Decatur Soccer Camps are designed for Boys and Girls of all different ability levels for a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Our staff features Decatur Coaches, current and former Decatur players, college, club, and high school coaches. Participants will receive training in competitive soccer fundamentals, tactics, and advanced training techniques. The skills taught at each training session can immediately be put to use and players are encouraged to try what they’ve learned both in and outside of camp. Be part of the Decatur soccer experience!!!

Stephen W. Gathany is a native of Decatur. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1998, where he was a 3 time captain and a 4 time Most Valuable Player. He attended Berry College, where he obtained a B.S in Psychology. Stephen started all four years at Berry, playing All-Conference while becoming the school’s 4th all-time leading scorer. Stephen went on to enter the United Soccer League and immediately became 2003 Offensive Player of the Year for the Nashville Metros. Stephen has been coaching soccer for over 14 years, at high school, club, and college levels. He has his USSF National “C” coaching license. He has coached the Decatur High School girls for 7 years now, taking the team to State tournament 4 years and to the Final Four twice, a record for Decatur girls. Stephen is currently a Special Education teacher at Decatur High School and is working on graduate school classes at the University of West Georgia.
Ben McKenzie-Ben is also an alumnus of Decatur and a standout goalkeeper. He played at the college level at Rhodes University and has been coaching for several years. Ben is the goalkeeping coach for not only Decatur’s high school teams, but also Emory University Men’s Soccer Team.

The remainder of the coaching staff is comprised of other local coaches, former college players and Decatur high school soccer players
