Dr. Mindy Millard-Stafford will be speaking on an important topic in public health: "Physical Activity for Americans: Why Exercise is Medicine™" Mindy Millard-Stafford, PhD, is Professor in the School of Applied Physiology (within the College of Sciences) at Georgia Institute of Technology where she also directs the Exercise Physiology Laboratory. In addition to being an accomplished researcher, Dr. Millard-Stafford currently serves as President of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) through 2009. She is the 5th woman President in the 54 year history of ACSM and the first Mom to have served in this role.
