Did you know that invasive plant species like privet and ivy are taking over our community parks by strangling and crowding out native plants? Renewal Construction, along with DeKalb County and the City of Decatur, call on neighbors like you to help save our precious greenspaces.
The CompetitionTeams compete for prize money by uprooting invasive plants in one of our local community parks. Officials from DeKalb County and the City of Decatur will judge the quality and quantity of work done to each group’s designated work space.

Important: Mandatory Training Session
One member from each team is required to attend one of two training sessions hosted by DeKalb County Parks (Sat., Oct. 25th at 10 am or Thurs., Nov.13th at 6:30 pm, Decatur Recreation Center, 231 Sycamore St., Decatur, GA 30030). Your representative will learn how to identify and properly destroy invasive plants. This advance training gives your group the education they need to win the big money!
Tip: Extra points will be added to your final score for each additional team member who shows up to a training session (up to four members).
