10th Annual Golden Shoe Awards - Sept 15 Nomination Deadline

Call for Nominations: Golden Shoe Awards Competition
To encourage a better balance between people and cars PEDS honors outstanding projects, places, and people who have contributed significantly toward making metro Atlanta safer and more accessible for pedestrians. Golden Shoe on White Background

We need your help identifying potential award winners. Projects for consideration must be completed or almost completed during the past 12 months or be part of an ongoing program. Nomination forms are available online as Word or PDF files. Nominations must be received in PEDS' office by Tuesday, September 15.

The Golden Shoe Awards Celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, November 11 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Special thanks to Selig Enterprises for hosting this event at Plaza Midtown. Please mark your calender!

2008 Golden Shoe Award Winners
Decatur Walking School BusPedestrian-friendly schools: City of Decatur, whose Active Living Division expanded and institutionalized its Safe Routes to School program after the Atlanta Bicycle Campaign completed a pilot project encouraging students to walk and bike to school.
